Marketing in the Wild: Part Three, Huluween
I appreciate curated content.
First off, my pun-loving self is glad they chose to seize the opportunity before them. When I log into Hulu and see the option to explore Huluween I’m instantly intrigued to see what they have prepared for me. And this isn’t the first time they’ve done a curated list.
I found one of my favorite shows (The Bold Type) thanks to one of their past curated show list for Pride month. Also, with the Pride playlist they help show me some of their values as a company and that makes me even more loyal. Finally, this past experience made me trust them to deliver good content any time I see there is a suggested curated section when I log in.
Let this be a reminder to you that if you want a customer to interact with specific content/product of yours, making it easy, enjoyable, and putting forth the extra effort to do so will make a big difference. Plus, it will leave your customers happy they don’t have to do the work themselves. #lazyandproud
Oh and it doesn’t hurt to cut down on the clutter of a digital presence like they did on the Huluween landing page. It helps everyone stay focused on the desired goal by removing other distractions.
How to apply it to your organization:
Plan out what you want to accomplish.
Create a focused landing page on your site or relook at the content on your website and streamline it.
Tell your customer exactly what you want them to do when they get to your site in your advertising/marketing.
Make sure to track your efforts.
Enjoy the benefit of customers coming back because you’ve made it easy to understand your purpose and they will ultimately trust your organization.
